4 Griggs et al. v. Duke Power Company
"Григгс и другие против Дьюк пауэр компани"Дело в Верховном суде США [ Supreme Court, U.S.], решение по которому (1971) определило, что Закон о гражданских правах 1964 года [ Civil Rights Act of 1964] "запрещает не только явно дискриминационные действия, но и практику, приводящую к дискриминации" ["proscribes not only discrimination but also practices that are discriminatory in operation"]. Суд также определил, что закон требует, чтобы тесты, используемые нанимателями, определяли способность испытуемого к выполнению данной работы, а не оценивали человека в целом.
